How scary is Amnesia: The Dark Descent?

Don't give away any spoilers,but can you please tell me what type of scare it offers! Just give me details about how scary it is, what the environment is like in the game, and what type of game it is. People keep on telling me that its an awesome game. I play the SH series a lot so would that match up to a game that I would like?How scary is Amnesia: The Dark Descent?
From what i've seen it has some very nice scares. There's a lot of run away from something that you don't know what it is, and compared to the silent hill series you would likely enjoy it. If you dont believe me what some of the reaction videos on youtube.
Also if your looking for good pc games be sure to check out killing floor and minecraft.

How scary is Amnesia: The Dark Descent?
Well from personal experience, I would say it's not much as scary as it makes you EXTREMELY Paranoid because you have nothing besides a Lantern and you can't see the things chasing you. So like the other guy said, there is a lot of running away. But Overall I still recommend this game, because it will make you jump a lot. ;)

It's weird, for a while I wanted to forget about it and never play it again, but I am somehow drawn back to it...

The fact that you know something is hunting you terrifies you. But when it sees you, it's worse.

I don't find it scary at all. The only thing that actually harms you in the game is a slow moving monster that appears in different intervals of the game. Apart from that, all you really do is walk around in some huge castle.
